PER TE

a film by Luca Paulli

Transcending the boundaries of a typical film

Per Te follows a father and his two-years old son as they enjoy a summer day in the park. The story is set up in Peckham, South East London, where the director lives with his family.

Narrated by the director in Italian, the language he has been talking to his son since he was born, Per Te transcends the boundaries of a typical film, becoming a testament of love and a personal record of enduring tenderness for his son to keep in the years to come.

Per Te is a heartfelt depiction of the profound bond shared between a father and his small son; a touching tribute to the power of love and the importance of building a better future for the next generation.

The story behind

Since becoming a father in 2019 I wanted to make a film about fatherhood and what it means to me to be a parent.

The outcome is a project that is both intimate and personal, while also able to carry a universally resonating message.

I have teamed up with producer Richard Barnett, who also had two children at the same time as me. Our shared experience created a profound connection that elevated both the film and its message.

The music by Daniel Pemberton perfectly captures that sense of fragility that comes when having a child, while simultaneously fostering a spirit of empowerment and hopefulness for what lies ahead.

The film’s message is powerful and compelling: the future may be uncertain. but with love, determination and courage, we can build a brighter future.
